De Etta Petersen—Gym Manager, Instructor

De Etta has been training at Calhoon’s since 2003 and was Calhoon’s first adult student! In 2006, she was promoted to Instructor. As Calhoon’s second ever Brown Sash, De Etta is on track to earn her Black Sash sometime in late 2009!

In addition to teaching Youth Mixed Martial Arts classes and Boot Camp conditioning classes, De Etta also helps manage the gym’s day-to-day operations behind the front desk.

Before landing at Calhoon’s, De Etta had trained and instructed numerous Martial Arts related aerobics classes for years, but had never quite found what she was looking for. We are glad De Etta finally found what she was looking for at Calhoon’s and are glad to have her as a part of our team!

De Etta is a mother of three and a grandma four times over. De Etta’s teaching skills and knowledge along with her contagious high-energy help her to not only be an effective Instructor but to also set a good example for other women for reaching health and fitness goals and self-defense abilities at any age!
